Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress as well as a director producer and singer. Liu is a gorgeous, skilled actress that has inspired many Asian actors to make it in Hollywood. Following a string of appearances in popular television shows that made her famous, she was cast in the Ally McBeal legal comedy where she was Ling Woo. Her sudden fame translated into movies like Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an amazing performance as Japanese criminal O'Ren ishii In Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. She also played leading roles in the failures of box office films like Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she was able to start voicing characters from animated films like Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. The small screen role of Mia Mason in Cashmere Mafia didn't yield any positive results. Southland's critically acclaimed police series, Southland and a recurring performance helped Liu revive her career as an actress. Liu chooses her roles carefully to ensure she is not stereotyped within the industry which is extremely competitive. Liu is a Chinese woman who has accepted her origins, yet she doesn't allow it to hinder her creative abilities.
