Kari Sam Wuhrer was born on April 28, 1968, is an American actor and singer. Wuhrer began her career as she was just a teen. Her most well-known role is for playing Maggie Beckett on the TV show Sliders, as well as her role as Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the thriller-comedy movie Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was raised at Brookfield Connecticut as the daughter of Karin Noble who was employed as a cashier, as well as German American Andrew Wuhrer. There are three siblings. She began singing in clubs as a teenager, and would sneak out of her house in order to perform. After studying acting at the Wooster School at 13 years old, she was a drama student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under renowned Uta Hagen. She was born a Brookfield local was born in Brookfield Connecticut, on 28th April 1967. Her mother works as an accountant for payroll, while her father, a German-American, is a police officer and auto salesman. Kari was born in a family with four children. In her teens, she performed in nightclubs by slipping away to perform. In the year she turned 13 older, Kari studied acting at the Wooster School. She then was enrolled in drama classes at the Tisch School of the Arts located at New York University, Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College and at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art along with the renowned professor Uta Hagen. Kari began acting when she was still a teenager. Kari got her first major appearance with MTV Remote Control in 1987.
